Back and joint pain

I emailed the physio again

Had to stand on a train for 20 mins and my back literally ceased up and was the worst pain I’ve had for a long time

My knee joints are similar

They said to get in contact if it got worse

I’m so sorry, @Joker. Do you have an orthopedic specialist that you can see? I don’t know if that’s the same thing as physio or not. It took me seeing the right knee specialist to get my replacement surgery done. I wish you luck in getting help. It’s torment to have pain that just won’t quit.

I started getting upper back pain when walking for more than 30min since gaining massive weight. It did not go away after losing all the weight. Dr said to adjust my posture. I game a lot on a chair and my posture is bad.

Thanks @Honeysuckle

The person is a spine specialist I think

They found early facet joint degeneration, 2x bulging discs and my lower spine is straight not curved

These are mild as of last year

but they only x rayed my knees

Hope she will see me again

I am seeing cardio too in a few weeks as gp thinks I might have angina

Did the knee surgery help?

They recommended a lumbar support

Didn’t get one but I have one coming today

I’ve had a double microdiscectomy on L4-S1, and that offered great relief for the disc herniations. Recovery was miserable, but it slowly got better. Not perfect because I also have degenerative disc disease, coccydynia, and something about scar tissue from the surgery pressing on things that cause pain.

Yes, the knee surgery has been helpful. I don’t feel like my knee will buckle now.Much easier recovery than back surgery. Part of what makes it easier is being allowed to put weight on it immediately. I’ve had three prior knee surgeries where they tried microfractures, and I wasn’t allowed to bear weight for weeks after. The surgeries were arthroscopic, fairly non-invasive, but those darned crutches were the bane of my existence.

I suggest a back brace fairly cheap. Really helps me a lot.

Is that like a Velcro thing?

Yeah it has a Velcro strap that wraps around. Some you can heat or cool to help it feel better.

Thanks!

Years ago my gp said to buy heat patches

You got two 24 hour patches for about £16

This sounds like a much better solution
