Body Scan Meditation

In body scan meditation, are you supposed to pay attention to physical sensations and emotional sensations, or physical sensations, emotional sensations, and emotions or just physical sensations?

I’ll know more about this after Thursday because my seminar teacher does something similar

I’ve only done it a couple of time to get me some sleep.

I just concentrated on the physical sensation as was guided to in some spotify playlist.

This in tandem with relaxing and the physical side effect creates a peace I suppose. Emotional peace comes from the practice I mean.

Why do you meditate? What is the goal? What are you hoping to get from any meditation at all?

For me, it gives me bliss sometimes, peace, but this to me is just a phsyical untangling that happens from the practice.

I personally don’t have any ‘spiritual’ motivations any longer. That stuff to me is charlatan nonsense which loads of people do because they want to escape their suffering.

Those gurus are in a state of dissociation rather than ‘enlightenment’ which doesn’t actually exist.
