Has anyone here ever gotten off of invega?

What med did you replace it with? Did you have rebound psychosis?

Invega was a bit of a nightmare for me, only med I ever took via injection and it gave me terrible akathisia. I’d walk in circles all day in tears unable to sit down. I only had 3 total injections (1 each month) and when we stopped it, it took a full 6 months for the akathisia to go away. Injections just stay in your bloodstream longer than pills. Biggest medicine regret I ever had. Won’t ever do an injection ever again, pills only in case something goes haywire.

I’m on Zyprexa pills now, as I have been for the last 5 years, with much much less akathisia.

I hated invega. Side effects were awful. I switched to aripiprazole a few years back. I don’t remember having anything terrible coming off invega.

I was on the invega injection but insurance refused to cover it because I am med compliant. I’m now on its pill form. It’s worked very well for me.

I’m on Invega and don’t have many side effects except SD. They gave me Abilify for that. If it doesn’t resolve I’ll probably switch meds.

I just want to tell you that if you’ve been on the same depot injection for more than a decade you should stay on it for the rest of your life.

I’ve been on the Clopixol injection for almost 30 years and I know my brain has adopted tó this so much that going off of this would mean permanent brain damage.
