I once heard that if you cannot trust yourself then you cannot trust others
I trust no one
I have this problem…my brain is fried
and I don’t know what’s real. I trust a few others tho…couple people on the forum my mum and my therapist
I think when your eyes are bad you need other people to see for you.
Being honest..it comes down to choosing to trust those people
I trust no one
Unfortunately it’s because I’ve been burned by others in life and chronic paranoia
I think we can start to learn to trust ourselves by having a routine and doing what makes up the routine.
For example, do you trust yourself to take your medication? Do you trust yourself to do your med box? I trust myself to take my medication and do my med box because I do it. I take medication 3 times per day (when I wake up, 4:00PM and 9:00PM). If I know I won’t be home at any of those times I bring my meds with me in a small med box I keep in my pocket.
Thus write small goals (e.g., make my bed), then write down if you did it or not–and if you didn’t do it why you didn’t do it (you have to hold yourself accountable). After you do your goal(s) consistently, day after day, you’re going to start trusting yourself to do even more goals.
Don’t trust family either. I’ve heard stories.
Being able to overcome suspicious feelings is a very strong trait. Anyone who’s been through psychosis has reached the end of the spectrum of emotional turmoil imo. To get back out of it - probably only happens when highly lucky events like high social support exists; doing it oneself alone is probably rare. Belief in self is good though, and probably remedies the rarity. Hopefully
