Hello everyone. I’m Observationist. A couple months ago, I was diagnosed with schizophrenia after several months of being on risperidone. I found this forum looking something else up.
I’m glad that I only feel people watching me sometimes now, but what’s next? I’ve noticed the paranoia has begun to very slowly worse these past few weeks, and I really don’t want to go insane again, so is it just keep upping the dose of medicine as I get worse? How do I avoid hurting my fiance by not trusting her? Is there a way to get my personality back? it really hurt when my father asked whether I would be like I was when I graduated high school some years ago.
This is really a ramble, but schizophrenia has been really boring and uninteresting.
Welcome to the forum friend. As time goes on you will likely need medication adjustments if you’re having symptoms. It’s normal. You’ll need to be patient and let the process work for you. I’m sure they’ll get you feeling better.
When on the meds lots of social suspicions, general distrust of those around me. When I missed a few days because of a pharmacy mix up, and before I was on meds very bizzare. Like my meds where being replaved with poison or the walpaper of my dorm was demonic messages to mind control me.
Oh, sorry to hear that. It’s good news that the bizarre stuff has stopped. Social suspicions may or may not be psychotic. Not saying youre not psychotic, but it’s possible it could be just suspicions. Do you have an example of a typical one?
The whole goal is to get you as close to baseline as possible, I still have voices and hallucinations but I have days also with mild symptoms and I’m not totally out of it. Hang in there
My meds didn’t help enough until I found just the right combo. Hang in there. Reports suspicious thoughts, and paranoia to your psychiatrist. That way he/she can adjust your meds until you get them the best they can be. Now that I have started this particular combo of meds, I’ve been more functional for several years now.
