If i played apex legends today and went for a walk i must be happy?

Happiness is a state of mind not your achievements ?

Who are we?

Keep busy, take meds, don’t wallow in despair.

I now create sleep

I make 100 prostrations each morning while saying the prayer of the publican  generally, I try to keep busy with housework, I read a variety of things from spiritual works to memoirs, I help my wife with coursework, I talk to the kids about their day and play PS5 with them. Mostly Im happiest when I go to Divine Liturgy, which Ive managed the last 2 days, but today I was unable to thanks to strange thoughts - that makes me quite unhappy. So in summary; church, family, and books make me happy.

My only choice is to use caffeine for bursts of energy, reading for keeping busy and music for as close to consistency in mood as I can get. Living with purpose helps, so if you have goals or interests - pursue them if you can.

I have said it before and I’ll say it again as it has transformed my life.

Take a hot shower and follow it with a short cold shower! Start at 1 minute.

It is difficult, but no pain no gain.

After a couple of weeks you will notice you are not as depressed anymore.

I’m up for trying any treatment option that doesn’t involve crippling medication side effects. I’ve adjusted to cold showers (good for someone into camping), but hot then cold overwhelms.

My doctor said also to shower with cold after hot. But not for long

Science states a growth mindset prevents depression. Yeah it takes work but what do you expect to be a human vegetable like a hospital patient in bed all day and be happy. Good things.

Sounds like ancient psychiatry. Let’s just stick you in a box and increase the heat. Then stand you against a wall and blast you with a freezing cold jet wash. Its the true lunacy  like using insulin therapy. We’re past all that medieval stuff now haha

Yes and no. I enjoy the resulting response from a physiological cold shock. I like to paddle and kayak in dangerously cold temperatures so I have acclimatized myself to this. Extreme cold submersion triggers the mammalian dive relflex and the cold shock response (bradycardia and peripheral vasoconstriction). It causes panic in the unprepared. I like being prepared.

I have already done two polar dips this year.
