I am gonna reduce my medication

atm i am taking 2.5 mg.

i will bring it down to 1.25mg on 11 august when i get my benefits

and then maybe 0mg after 6 months or 12 months idk

I do not like the side effects

I do not recommend this to all people at all. it is very risky and could be dangerous

It is just that i really can barely survive these days

Sounds good. My side effects are horrendous… Memory loss, high prolactin, bad skin, weight gain, exhaustion, thirst, bad eyesight, anxiety, hypersexuality, prolactinomas, tiredness in the morning and the list goes on. I am not allowed to come off mine sadly

Nobody likes the side effects, but it’s better than psychosis. That’s the tradeoff. Be careful Zoe.

I am on abilify 2.5 mg atm. Tbh it is risky because i am not stable.

Good luck zoe. I know its possible to live with certain kinds of psychosis, but you did seem to be struggling a bit before your recent increase. I hope you can find ways to manage.

Thankyou @Schizbro really kind of you.

I’ve thought of doing this too. Not sure it will be good tho .

Hmmm idk.

What does your pdoc say

Wow 2.5mg? Thats such a low dose. I was told by pdocs that anything under 10mg of abilify wont really help with protecting from psychosis. How are you going on the 2.5?

I would love to try and get off my long term med with the help of my p/doc but I have tried it a few times unsuccessfully, I only take a low dose but it does a lot for me.(I think) I keep swinging between stopping meds and staying on them, its a real push-pull thing.

I know how you feel. Same here i tried in 2018 and 2022 without success.

how is that possible, abilify lowers prolactine

It does in some cases raise prolactin. My gp told me. Maybe it is more rare.
