I just woke up with cramps in both sides of my abdomen area

It was absolute hell. No matter which way I leaned, it made one side or the other worse. Took 10 or 15 minutes to subside. It was pure hell. Thought I was going to pass out.

Are you going to report it to a doctor?

I dont think Ill make a special appt for it, no. But if continues will bring it up at next appointment.

Cant really afford to go in unnecessarily.

My leg cramped up going up the stairs at work today also.

My doc told me before that cramps were a side effect of out of whack blood sugars. SOmething to do with electrolytes.

May be that I need to watch blood sugars more closely.

Have not been watching real closely because I stopped buying the glucose monitors because they were so innaccurate and my insurance only likes to cover 1 per day on the glucose strips.

Anyway, my guess is it has to do with blood sugars.

if its more toward the back i think thats where your kidneys are

Kidneys are vital organs that filter waste and extra fluid from your blood to produce urine, maintain the body’s fluid/chemical balance (salts, minerals, pH), control blood pressure, help make red blood cells (via erythropoietin), and activate vitamin D for strong bones, essentially keeping your body’s internal environment stable and clean.

wishing you the best man… i hope if it persists you can see a doctor about it

Perhaps you need to drink more water and other fluids.

Just throwing it out there.

I actually do need to drink more fluids. Jardiance, which I take for diabetes, makes you pee more.

I dont drink enough water….too much soda.

Thanks @Patrick

I just learned recently that there are two ways to measure blood sugar level: Fasting glucose and HbA1c.

I am not doctor, and I just checked online:

Fasting glucose is to measure current sugar level at that moment, while HbA1c is to measure average sugar over the last 2-3 months.

While doctors use both, use HbA1c if you want a more reliable picture of your overall lifestyle management.

Please ignore this if you already know. :slightly_smiling_face:

Take care!

Thanks @anon79293194 . I actually did know that. I get my A1C checked regularly. It was under 7 last time which is generally the target for diabetics…….but I have recently not been monitoring the “current” blood sugar as closely as I should for the reasons I listed above.

But thank you.

Was it like a cramping sensation? Or like an organ pain?

Yeah, i ask because i have pain on my spleen and also on my liver, but they are distinct pains and you sort of can from a cramp.

Is it hot where you are?

Hmm, i can only guess the cold made you cramp.

When i would work in the sun and sweat I would take magnesium in powder with water and i was back to normal.

But, im really sorry that made your night filled with pain… i truly hope you have better rest
