I read that clozapine

Clozapine can re wire your brain

Might quit

Yes, research indicates that clozapine can alter, or “rewire,” brain structure and function, particularly in individuals with treatment-resistant schizophrenia, by promoting neuroplasticity, reshaping neural connections, and altering brain chemistry.

Unlike some other antipsychotics that may be associated with progressive brain volume loss, clozapine has shown potential to encourage neurogenesis (production of new neurons) and strengthen synaptic connections, a process sometimes described as “rebuilding” or repairing the brain’s circuitry.

Sounds like a plus to me.

That’s from Google’s AI

I think the issue is moot because there’s so many other reasons why clozapine is not a good choice in my opinion.

I’ll never take clozapine

I was against it but I was put in a position where my freedom may have been at risk if I had not agreed

I think that most antipsychotics rewire your brain chemistry

Although Clozapine is a heavy hitter it does possess a lot of benefits

It’s a lifesaver for many treatment resistant individuals

I have been on clozapine for nearly 20 years. I am sure it has affected my brain but not entirely in a positive way. I mean it absolutely has helped me with psychosis and delusions and paranoia, but also my cognitive skills and memory have gone a lot worse. I mean a lot. I would absolutely love to read what clozapine does to a brain when you use it for decades. If anyone knows about this.

I’m on Clozapine 26 years,off and on.

Tried every single ap, but always returned to Clozapine. It’s doing wonders for me, but I take lot of psychiatry meds, mood stabilizator and ad.

Think that the med is saving brain from damage, and it’s not just how many years you’re taking it,just natural ageing can look like it works otherwise.

Avolition, drooling and problems urinating are common… That’s all.

I really wanted it to work. Took ages to build myself up to take it. Mashed my BP. However, I put this down to being overweight and unhealthy. So once Im fit n strong again, Lord willing, I may beg to try again. Lock me again in hospital for a week, I dont care.
