I'm dreading my parents death

I love them and they help me so much.

Definitely understand how you feel @KingD.

I get intrusive images and thoughts about both my mom and my dog dying. The intrusive scenarios are sometimes so intense that they make me cry.

We just have to cherish the time we spend with our parents and family, and hold onto the good moments.

That’s awful that you get those thoughts. Keep fighting.

Thank you @KingD, wishing you peace from all this as well.

They say loss and the idea of it is one of the hardest things for humans to process, but at least we’ve been blessed with having parents that are good to us and dear to us, and the best thing we can do is to cherish the time we have left with them.

Wishing you well :purple_heart:

I agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly.

After losing all my grandparents, one of my best friends, my cousin, my younger brother still in his 30s, and my Rabbi who was so very kind and generous with his time, if I even think of other people close to me dying it’s almost more than I can bear. My mom and wife do so much for me, I’m also afraid of going on without them. But my kids and grandkids will still need me. I don’t even know how to end this paragraph. Sorry y’all.

If my family dies, I will lose my mind.

I think I will be attacked by psychosis

I’m dreading my parents death too. They’re in their 80’s now. And my mom recently was diagnosed with dementia so that makes it worse because there’s no cure for it. It’s just so sad!! I think my recent relapse was caused by hearing the news from my sister about my mom’s diagnosis

Im dreading the day I loose my mum and dad. Honestly I don’t know how I’ll cope. I hope I have many more years of them yet.

My Dad died in October 24 and I loved and miss him. My mum is now in her golden years and I’m worried… I call her three times a day and don’t really have anyone else

Dreading of death for me is a big problem.I have this thing for everyone I know .. It’s just deal in between lack of love or actual fear. From point not to hate someone for neglecting me,it comes big “what if something happens to (person)..”

I’m in early sixties (52) and my mum died 14 years ago.It took me ten years to end grief, although all who died are in my mind in night prayers ..

My father died in 1989 and my mother died in 2020.

In January I wrote on this website about my mother’s death, so I’ll just copy & paste it:

[I’ve lost a lot of people along the way, but the death of my mother hit me the hardest because she was not only my mother but my best friend. She died in 2020, and I’m at the point now that when I think of my mother I think of the fun times we had.

I remember when we went to the Salvador Dali museum in Florida. We were wearing headsets to listen to narration. The other people were super serious. We heard that the artist (a visiting artist–not Dali) worked with bronze, wood and paper. We looked at each other and busted out laughing. I didn’t want to upset the other people, so I didn’t look at my mother, but I couldn’t resist and I slowly turned my head towards my mother, and we looked at each other and busted out laughing.

This went on and on.

That’s where I’m at with all of the people I’ve lost. I try to remember the good times. I’m not sad that it ended, I’m grateful that it ever happened.]

My mom has good genetics so she should live for a long time. Her mom lived a long life so she should to.

I hope & pray :folded_hands: for all parents to not die :).

My dad is dead tho :(.

My dad died when I was 17. My mom has kidney disease and heart disease. She said she’s not getting dialysis. Her kidney labs keep going down for kidney function. Hopefully I have her for a little bit. Gotta save for funeral and other stuff. Gotta be realistic. We all die.
