Yeah I have had insomnia my whole life. Mostly because of nightmares I think, they wake me up a lot. Just had a whopper last night. What are ya gonna do.

Actually someone told me it would help to stop eating spicy foods. I said I’d rather just keep having nightmares than do that. You can take my peppers from my cold dead hands.

I find the best way to increase chances of a timely slumber is to wake up bright and early, like 6 am. then I’m ready to conk out at 10 pm.

Yes, I can get insomnia from stress, also. I hope your husband feels better soon.

A chronic problem for me. I had help for it several months ago. It worked for a short while.

What help did you get @firemonkey how did it work?

Lack of Sleep makes mental illness even harder because its depressing being awake , alone all night when everyone else is asleep and mentally messes you up so much. I cant correct it im doomed, feeling this cant be fixed. Its hell

I had to fill in a sleep diary.Keeping a sleep diary | Oxford Health CAMHS Was advised to avoid caffeine after 6pm . Be more physically during the day. Switch the laptop off an hour before going to bed. Wind down by watching some TV(nothing highly stimulating) . Do some colouring in a colouring book.

If i go to sleep at 10pm, i wake at 4am

If i go bed at 9pm i wake at 3.30am

Then sleep 9am until 3.30pm

This has been the past 2 nights and before that ive been sleeping for 4-6 hrs a time

It is a bloody mess sleep atm

I might try colouring books and relaxation music. Thanks for the tip @firemonkey take care

Relaxing music was recommended too.
