Job start date got moved and I am freaking out

Well I found out yesterday that my job start date got moved from June 15th all the way back till August 3rd!!

I am so mad and also freaking out. I was white knuckling it just to make it till the 15th. I gotta find a temporary job now because I can’t survive another two months.

Then part of me is worried like “If they keep moving the date, what’s stopping them from canceling the job offer altogether??”

I got my rent paid this month, and my phone and internet bills paid till July. I suppose I could beg my church to help with rent again but I really don’t want to, they’ve paid May and June rent for me so far.

Only bonus is now I have my insurance license so if the job does get canceled I can still use that license. Trying to stay positive but it’s hard with so many unknowns

Could u look for another job just in case?

Yeah I can but I am in a bit of a pickle because I signed a contract with the job that they would pay my course materials and testing fees in exchange for at least 6 months of work or else I will owe them all those fees back.

So I am not just free yet.

I hope you can find a job while waiting August and that they will not let you down

I hope it works out, but in the meantime, I think I’d look for another job. That’s kind of shady that they did that to you.
