I have had to call in quite a bit due to being ill. Today my manager told me she’s replacing me but hopes I’ll stay until my replacement is fully trained. She’s thinking by the time she finds someone and they go through training it’ll be July or august.
She also said she’s hoping corporate will approve me staying on as a part time mid shift but I don’t believe her. Every time she’s said something like that it didn’t come to fruition.
I understand why but it still stings a bit. I’m not mad just frustrated that I can’t stay well long enough to keep a real job.
I’ve been really getting extra paranoid so maybe it’s for the best.
I had to quit my Amazon job recently so I know the feeling to a certain extent. My reasons were primarily physical but I dont deny that stress was a smaller factor as well. Heres hoping you can find whatever you are looking for in this area of your life.
Thanks guys. Honestly, part of me is relieved. I’ve been so stressed. First I had to take a personality test, then a skills test (both normal) and then an intelligence IQ test! Weird! Then I went through training and had to study at home without pay and take an examination to be a full hire. All very stressful. It has been hard on me.
I pray before work every day that I have a good attitude, that I’m efficient and accurate and that I benefit the company. I try my best. I guess that’s all I can do.
My husband, mom, and sister all think I should put in my 2 weeks and go elsewhere. I don’t know what to do. Their argument is if I know I’m not keeping the job, should I really risk losing my disability for it?!?!
If losing disability is a factor I would strongly recommend putting in your two weeks notice.
Staying on until your replacement is trained is only beneficial to the company if your disability is at risk. You already know you won’t be there, and it sounds like you know the part time position won’t likely happen.
If it were me, I’d protect disability at all costs if you already know this job won’t be a permanent replacement.
It’s a hell of a lot easier to find a new job than it is to get back on disability.
@Schizbro , I was told it’s coming from higher up which I believe. The owner of the company I work for is a member of a particular religious group considered to be a rich persons’ cult, which is known for working the lower worker bees like crazy. They go through “programming “ etc regularly if they can’t handle working tons of hours for low pay. I run an office by myself for just over minimum wage. It’s pretty crazy.
