I was suicidal for a couple decades, and afraid to leave home for a decade. But I did overcome it. I still have my struggles and I’m not 100% better. But I can get through days without suicidal ideation and I can leave my house.

I just want you to know that it is possible to get better so don’t let yourself give up.

Ive had suicidal ideation for 15 yrs, agoraphobia roughly the same. So yeah im surprised your got over it?

I dont see myself getting any better it seems to get harder and harder every passing year

It got harder and harder for me too until this new combo of meds. At first after starting it I also took hydroxyzine throughout the day for anxiety. It got me calm enough to start attempting to go out. Then I got out longer and longer and with more and more ease. Don’t give up!

I’m not prepared to try any more meds at this current time. Ive been worse in other ways on different meds. Im better in some ways on these ones

Meds can only help you a certain amount. The SMI can be very debilitating for most with it and im not unusual or rare theres lots of people with SMI who are a recluse

I struggle all the time everyday but with hubbys help im managing to stay out of hospital. Im doing the best i can and i always have

I dont think its just the olanzapine etc med combo you need to give yourself more credit

Your probably in remission like a lot of people here are, and have seen the back of your severe days and are now recovering with meds and no longer as severe

See im still severe so i struggle everyday to the point of it being chronic.

Do you mind me asking @Lilyofthevalley

Was yours passive or active suicidal ideation?

Ie were they mostly thoughts about it rather than making any plans?

I made countless attempts to end my life. It was very active for decades.

As far as remission, I’m told I’m still delusional. I’m still being followed by navy seals. But my meds dull my mind to the point that I’m not revved up with crippling nervousness about it. I worry they’ll come after me someday. I just don’t know when. So I try to not let myself think about it and try to keep to busy to flip out.

Crisis woman told me last night to make a hope box , so that will be next thing to do , try. Its to remind yourself that you do have better times than that

What’s a social interaction you feel like you could do for a moment? Do you think you could answer the door? Talk on the phone for 30 seconds? Walk out to get the mail? There has to be something that’s out of your comfort zone but doable. The goal should be to stretch your limits with out re-traumatizing yourself. The problem with sz is we misinterpret so you gotta take really tiny steps. You gotta believe you did good
