I’m wondering if this is too much weight loss too quickly. I just weighted myself. I’m 88kg and last time I checked a couple of months ago before I started the medication I was 105kg.
Needless to say. I probably won’t need to increase my dose.
I think that I heard before that anything over 2 lbs a week was too much. I’m not sure of the Kg to lb conversion, though, without looking it up.
Congrats on the weight loss , though.
I just googled it. 17kg is about 37 pounds.
So thats about 6 lbs a week. Definitely consult your doctor for verification but to the laymen(me), that sounds like too much at once.
Ty I will do. Next time I order lt weight loss I will discuss whether I should lower the dose. Or stay on the same dose. I never lost this much this quickly last time. Weird.
I also lose kg without effort.
I still have much to lose
That’s good @Om_Sadasiva well done on the weight loss.
that is good progress for just 6 weeks, i read that the thing about losing too much weight too quickly being bad is a myth so i wouldnt stress over it being fast. david goggins lost 100 lb in 3 month and is extremely fit and has crazy endurance
i need to look into weight loss drugs
That’s too much too fast. If it slows down to 2 lbs/week (.9 kg) or less don’t worry. But if it keeps up that pace then I’d make an appointment with your doctor to discuss it.
I want to add that the more you weigh, the faster it can initially come off and be safe. For instance, someone weighing 600 pounds can lose 100 pounds (45 kg) in 2 months. But then after the initial huge drop, over time it should slow down.
You didn’t weigh enough to lose more than an initial quick drop of 10-15 pounds (4.5 to 6.8 kg)
I was 105kg @Lillyofthevalley
Now I am 88.
I see what you are saying @Lillyofthevalley will talk with the prescriber soon and lower the dose.
Right, so now you shouldn’t lose so much anymore. It’s not healthy to keep losing at that pace
How did you manage to loose that much weight in such a short span of time. This is really an accomplishment.
idk if you should get your doctor to lower your dose just because you lost initial weight fast, first 10 lbs can be water weight. i regularly lose 20 lbs in 3-4 weeks when not stalling weight loss. i lost 60 lbs in 4 months without weight loss meds just by taking geodon as my ap.
i really need to lose weight. been working out more
That’s a concerning rate of weight loss. It could mean you were suffering from inflammation and carrying excess water, but it could also mean that you’re losing at such a fast rate that your body is consuming muscle (it’s preference) rather than fat.
- See your doctor (absolutely mandatory)
- Increase protein intake
- Increase daily exercise.
- Increase daily calories.
- Weekly weigh-ins at a minimum.
(1) because it makes sense. (2) and (3) because having enough protein and exercising steers your body towards using fat. (4) because you want to slow down to a sustainable 2 lbs per week of loss that doesn’t cause systemic strain. If you’re still losing at this rate it could be hurting you. (5) because you need better records going forward.
Ty @shutterbug I will be ringing my dr tomorrow morning.
