I got lazy for awhile when my last boss was here, getting tasks done way too quickly because I wasn’t working hard, just going through the motions. Well, that boss retired in December and we got the new boss and he wasn’t overlooking the fact that I was getting things done way too quickly. So I buckled down and started doing a more careful, thorough job and its paid off; the new boss has told me several times I did a good job on tasks he assigned me to. It felt good, I hadn’t heard that in years but now in the last month and a half I’ve been told I’m doing good work four times. You can teach an old dog new tricks.

Mate. I respect you for getting it done and it’s good you’ve knuckled down! I’m a worker too but haven’t for 20 years now as I moved sideways onto disability. I still have much respect for workers and get out and about with them regularly…but when I worked I was always giving 100%!
Anyways. Sounds like your doing it right so keep on keeping on! And if you have to be there you may as well have some pride in your work!

Don’t give up. I was out of work almost 3 years before I found something. I got into it by joining a work programme. Minimum wage at first, but eventually it led to a steady regular job. I tried working full time at first, but it was too much, so I’m doing part time.
