Nice lady at the laundromat

I got up at 6:30 am to go to the laundromat to wash and dry my weighted blanket because I needed to get it ready to donate to GoodWill. When I got to the laundromat there was no attendant there to help me and I couldn’t figure out how to work the washer. People were walking past looking at me and a woman walked by and smiled at me so I asked her if she could help me. She showed me which washer to use and how to load a card with funds to start the washer and she helped me with other stuff. It was really good of her, I feel put down by most strangers so it was nice for a change to get a perfect stranger be nice to me. I offered to buy her a Coke but she just laughed and said that’s OK.

So I finished washing the blanket and then went and got gas, then went to McDonalds to kill time then stopped by GoodWill to donate the blanket. I feel like I accomplished some things. Cooked some chicken legs in my instant pot for lunch, now just taking it easy.

My sister had a weighted blanket that was so heavy it was hard to breathe under it

I don’t think you can wash weighted blankets. The beads inside can’t get wet or dried. At least mine are that way.

No, I know some aren’t washable but mine had a tag on it that said wash on cold and gentle cycle and air dry, it was fine.

I slept under a normal comforter last night without my weighted blanket and it felt weird. First time I didn’t sleep under one in two and half years, and it made me anxious, I guess I really got used to it.

Wow I need one of those washable ones. Mines sort of worn out but I really like it.

You should get one that is 10% of your weight. If you’re 300 lbs or more it’s going to be pretty heavy. I had a 30 lb blanket but I lost weight recently so I bought a 20 lb blanket and donated the old one to GoodWill.

If you get a duvet for it for $20 or $30 it will stay clean longer.

Ok. I just tried it one time, it must have been 30 lbs or more then. I thought I would suffocate

I felt like that at first but I got used to it and then slept good under it.

It just shows you that there are good people out there
