I got up at 6:30 am to go to the laundromat to wash and dry my weighted blanket because I needed to get it ready to donate to GoodWill. When I got to the laundromat there was no attendant there to help me and I couldn’t figure out how to work the washer. People were walking past looking at me and a woman walked by and smiled at me so I asked her if she could help me. She showed me which washer to use and how to load a card with funds to start the washer and she helped me with other stuff. It was really good of her, I feel put down by most strangers so it was nice for a change to get a perfect stranger be nice to me. I offered to buy her a Coke but she just laughed and said that’s OK.
So I finished washing the blanket and then went and got gas, then went to McDonalds to kill time then stopped by GoodWill to donate the blanket. I feel like I accomplished some things. Cooked some chicken legs in my instant pot for lunch, now just taking it easy.
I slept under a normal comforter last night without my weighted blanket and it felt weird. First time I didn’t sleep under one in two and half years, and it made me anxious, I guess I really got used to it.
You should get one that is 10% of your weight. If you’re 300 lbs or more it’s going to be pretty heavy. I had a 30 lb blanket but I lost weight recently so I bought a 20 lb blanket and donated the old one to GoodWill.
