Hey man, I used to play live instruments all my life until I needed to take this “bs” class (music production) to get credits lmao.
Long story short, it was great and I discovered a new hobby I go back into every now and then.
If you want to pursue music school but performing with others is not your main focus there are music production majors as well…
What’s up bro!! What all do they teach in music production courses? Also…what does the academic s say about the impact of ai…is music production still the same now?
Also..I love live instruments lol combined with production skills you can make a lot of good music!!!
Mine was pretty basic. Didn’t get to much into sound design, but more into the elements of making a song, a little bit of mixing and mastering as well. It was an intro side subject type of class, so none of us had used any software before.
Basically we needed to produce 5 tracks for the end of the course from start to finish. I made all hip hop kind of beats lol.
I think you should especialize in one instrument then, I know a few high level guys that play 2 instruments but its 1 in 200 and they started young.
Man… it’s hard to choose. I love the guitar and piano but really want to learn the sax. Honestly bro…I’m wondering if it would even matter…in terms of life satisfaction. I want to master something but I feel like it’s general music not any one component…idk
I guess I have to decide eventually…
Anyways …I feel like I’m doing pretty good at the moment. My music is getting better and more sound and it’s easier to listen to. The guitar is Soo fun to play but I’m gonna start sax in January… Maybe by 2028 I can decide. Lol

what can i say, i love me some pads. hahaha
i need to do a full-on ambient record sometime but that’s for the future. i wanna use a buncha old hardware synth emulators and make it sound like its straight outta the 80s.
