Really anxious following a failed med reduction. Think I now need more med than I started with

Hey @LivingWith thank you so much for all the in depth info. Is really really helpful. Where did you learn all this?

Hello @Jimbob ,

I’ll be honest with you.

Back in the day, I got a degree in biology.

(And no, I wasn’t from a priviledged background. Pretty poor, in fact. But I happened to luck out in terms of my brain (at least from the point of view of having what it takes to get a biology degree)).

So I have some background in understanding these things, even if at one point I was too traumatized and heavily drugged to be able to use that knowledge.

Thats correct. The only time that should ā€œcompromisedā€ is in the face of emergency.

Agreed - in emergencies, an antipsychotic (or other psychiatric drugs) can be stopped rapidly, under close medical supervision.

Sorry, I should have added that, too. (Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome being the most severe example.)

Thank you for correcting me. :folded_hands::folded_hands:

No not at all you are still correct. It would not (should not) really apply to us who are in a community setting. Thats a majority of us. In hospital, yes, thats different.
