I’ve been on a high these past few months, motivated and feeling really happy and content with life, blessing people in the street and feeling godly… These last 3 days I’ve spent 2 days in bed trying to control my suicidal thoughts and feel really low. I rang my community nurse this morning and he rang me back 30 minutes later and I told him how suicidal and depressed I was, he told me to try and keep occupied and visit the cinema, engage with my support staff. At 2pm my psychiatrist rang and asked how I’m sleeping, she said because I’ve slept she doesn’t think haloperidol will help but she proscribed me 5mg Diazepam. Earlier today I seen my support worker and new member of staff walking to the shop and he said I was rocking feet to feet talking really fast, I didn’t realise this at the time. Anyway support worker got me the Diazepam from chemist and I’ve taken one. Community nurse is ringing on Monday and coming for my injection on Wednesday. psychiatrist is thinking injection has wore off. I’m hoping it hasn’t long term because I’m on monthly paliperidone 156mg injection and this is first generation AP and I would have to go on second generation, like zuclopenthixol injection with more side effects, one of them is worsening bladder incontinence which has gotten worse over the years and I wear pads, this is preventing me from travelling which I’m really missing doing. I’m just messed up!
Don’t worry about side effects if you need to move on.
We are all different and how we handle psych meds is so totally different. Yeah you may get some side effects but if it helps you it’s a no brainer.
It’s tough. Sometimes it’s worked for me changing and honestly my shink has got me through some bad times simply from suggestions in meds…Like I read all the horror stories before about weight gain on zyprexa but I lost weight. I gained it all on risperdal.
Point being. Be kind to yourself but trying another med may get you out of the hole. It’s all about function vs side effects but my point is give it a go.If it dont’ work then no drama but if your struggling it could be good for you. It’s so hard I know but consider it.
Sorry to hear this. If you are suicidal then you must consult and trust your treatment team. They will come up with a good plan. Meanwhile lots of rest…
If your feeling suicidal please contact someone… hope you feel better dude
