Why do delusions feel so real?

Delusions feel so real and when I take my meds they completely go away. It’s amazing how real it is when we are in an episode.

Is there any research that says why we think these delusions are so real?

Seriously, you should just ignore them and put it down to your MI.

You entertaining them is just gonna mess with yout head.

Great you have insight to know they are a delusion tho., some people dont, and they go down the rabbit hole with them x

I had some paranoid delusions today. They seem real because I think the neurochemical process of psychotic thought does a total blocking of other thought processes.

I discovered that some medicine can make you feel worse not better. Some drugs bombarded my head with so many hallucinations that I thought the drugs had been swapped for drugs with THC. I came off age 40 and every symptom disappeared. Sadly my treatment team didn’t see my head was leveling out having been sedated since I was 21 and enforced treatment. I’ll never know if I was sane or not…
