Zepbound is not covered for me because it is too new, but Wegovy is. Have you asked for that?
It was not covered by my primary Medicare based plan for weight loss. However, a very kind concierge informed me that I actually have a secondary Medicaid plan that does cover it for weight loss.
I have that secondary because I receive SSDI. If you do too, I recommend reaching out to your insurer.
It’s all very frustrating how often medicine is not preventive. “Let’s just wait until someone gets sick” is such an awful mindset.
Not all people with SSDI qualify for Medicaid as a secondary. I don’t. I didn’t even before I was working. But it is worth looking into just in case
Thank you for everyone. I’ll bring your ideas up to my dr.
Insurance just denied it again for me. I have sleep apnea, I’m fat, I have high blood pressure. What more has to happen or occur for them to cover it??
It will take either diabetes or heart disease probably. Your situation is pissing me off. I wish there was something I could do to help.
