And boy am I tired. Scrubbed some filthy restroom floors with a scrub brush. I tried doing it for five minutes and I felt like telling the boss I couldn’t do it. It took a lot of muscle and I thought it wasn’t even working, the floors still looked dirty. I scrubbed for five minutes then rested for a minute, then another 5 minutes and then rested another minute and so on. That’s the best I could do, it was a lot of work, the floors hadn’t been deep cleaned in 5 years and the dirt was ground into the tile. When I finished for the day the boss checked it out and said it looked good! In my 50 years of working mostly manual labor jobs I am so out of shape now that I thought for the first time I would have to stop in the middle of a job and tell the boss I couldn’t do it. It was just pride that kept me going. The worst part is I still have 11 restrooms to do.

No, it was stiff bristle scrub brush on a long handle. It sounds easy but it took a lot of work.

Yeah I know that’s hard continuously applying pressure and moving it around. I would have said “fuckk this job” every 5 minutes or so.
In fact at my last job I said that so much even 3 or 4 years later I say that about things when I’m not even working.
