New boss being a little difficult

I scrub the restroom floors once a month. Friday I did 8 of them in 4 hours. I went kind of fast but did an OK job and actually spent 5 or 10 minutes after each one waiting for them to dry instead of lugging a mop around to dry them off with. When I reported back to the boss he was surprised and he couldn’t believe I did them that fast; I actually wasted a total of an hour if you count the time I wasted waiting for them to dry on their own so I was surprised that he was surprised.

He said I got them done way too fast and next time to take my time. I added that I’ll “spend more time” on them next time and that seemed to satisfy him. But then for some reason he felt he had to exert a little power and he said he’ll have me scrub 4 of them again near the end of the month. I noticed he has done some similar things a few times already. He’s new so I think he’s trying to assert himself and show he’s no pushover so a couple times of times he’s made things a little harder on me then they needed to be. Oh well, he doesn’t seem like a terrible guy, just a little insecure about showing who’s boss.

I had a bad supervisor at work. I’m done with that crap.

I have a lady like this now. I try to avoid her. Could you kill some time so he doesn’t think you’re doing them too fast or is he like the micro managing type?

I’ll start taking my time, the whole crew does. No, they don’t micromanage, they tell me what to do in the morning when I go in and I’m off on my own the rest of the day doing it; I know how to do everything, I don’t need to be supervised.

Yeah that’s annoying for sure.
