I wonder what my boss thought about this

The last few days I’ve been filling out paperwork at my job. It’s a company that hires the disabled and veterans and the company has rehabilitation right in its title. So they send human resource people out from the home office to our job site to make sure we’re happy and satisfied with our job.

I took the yearly survey today and my answers probably looked bad to any normal boss. I said I don’t want to be trained for anything else (carpet cleaning machines, buffers, wax strippers etc.). I said I don’t want to move up in my job i.e. I don’t want to be supervisor or anything like that. I said I was satisfied with my job, I have no complaints and couldn’t think of any changes that need to be made.

I guess I didn’t sound very ambitious but I told the lady I was satisfied with my hours and the tasks I do and it’s a stable job and I want it to keep going like it’s going. And she told me they were happy with my work and I get along with everybody just fine. I really don’t have any ambitions for another job or more responsibility. I’m happy with my hours and I’m very happy with the pay; I make $21 and hour and work ten hours a week and that’s fine with me. She asked me where I see myself in three years time and I said hopefully still at this job. In other words I like that the job is easy, my boss isn’t too strict and I don’t want to rock the boat. I guess it’s not a crime to not be ambitious.

I don’t see anything wrong with what you said

That’s good you appreciate your job and want things to stay the same

There’s no need to want more responsibility
