It happened to me with latuda
Was on it 18 months and akathisia came out of no where
I quit it and ended back in hospital again

It’s horrible isn’t it @Joker Might sound extreme but I think it has led to self harm and similar in some people.
I heard it is used in torture in some countries via administrations of huge amounts of haloperidol. This could be a myth though

Oh it is much better today @Joker I took extra procyclidine and an extra pregabalin.
This really calmed things down. But if it happens again tonight I will need to phone my team. As regular increases of procyclidine and regain would be not sustainable

I used to have that with perphenezine. I’d jump on the treadmill and run and it would help.

Is a really weird side effect huh. A side effect which forces you to walk/run?
It didn’t force me to run. But that restless shifting feeling would fade away after I would run or walk quickly. It would happen mostly after an hour I took the med. It didn’t cause sleepiness so I would run for twenty min after taking it and then I was fine.

Sometimes i get the compulsion to pace, but it is pretty rare on my dose of 5mg. Back when i was on 20mg of my zyprexa i would circle the garage in tears often. Also Invega gave me TERRIBLE akathisia that didn’t go away until six months after stopping the injection.
My main goal was finding a med and dose that didn’t give me akathisia. It’s by far the most upsetting side effect I’ve ever had. I really hope it calms down for you. Propranolol was prescribed for me to help ease it and I think it works.

Yes I’m on invega now and very sometimes I notice it. I mean it sort of forces me to engage in healthy exercise. They took me off propranolol due to it triggering a genetic heart disorder. Propranolol was helping my restless agitation I think. There were so many sudden changes made at that time so I’m not sure what helped what. @Agent101g

I’ve learned different meds affect different people differently. One of our old members ZombieMombie from the old forum was on Invega and really liked it

Yes. I’ve been on it about seven months now. I should be getting the injection but because I’m med compliant insurance won’t cover it. I have very poor absorption so the pill is not as effective as the injection but that’s where I’m at. My doctors have told me just to deal with all my psych symptoms. Sorry to vent. My funhouse was designed by a DC villain and I try not to go on about it.

That’s crazy they won’t give you the injection! Is it really that much more expensive than the pills?
You know I think I remember them saying it was like a thousand dollars, the needle, now that I think of it, without considering insurance. It’s okay I understand you venting, this should be a safe place for that. If I was your doctor I’d do everything in my power to get you the injection. It’s silly to think if you stopped cooperating you’d get what you need.
