It seems the solution is obvious. If that discourse company is willing to finance the old forum for free and this is just like the old forum then see if the SZadmin can get them to finance this forum for zero dollars.

I dont think the zero dollars thing is going to be permanent. ITs probably just so they dont lose the account forever. They may indeed like the forums supportive nature, but I seriously doubt discourse is going to finance them forever.

Agreed. After all, discourse is a company and like other companies on earth, they want and need money to keep going.

Well, even if they financed this site for just 3 or 6 months thatā€™s a $100 a month weā€™ll be saving and would guarantee this site goes on longer.

some companies really do care about non profit orgs though, places of support and stability for people, Canva shares it pro accounts with charities like that and thatā€™s massive and they took off big time as a company. I think it can really help draw people in if the company can show its compassion to the unfortunate.

Honestly, no. Itā€™s been on autopilot for a while now. Youā€™ve done a better job here in a month or so than was done over there in the last half decade. They made it weird, not you. (Taking ownership for my part in the decline.)

Iā€™ve never held a grudge against you ever. I donā€™t hold grudges against anyone from the old forum. Iā€™m just happier being a mod over here because itā€™s much less stressful. Itā€™s easier.

i think personally i prefer this site and dont want to go back unless its confirmed the site is staying up defintively because that failure to communicate and 1 month doomsday clock out of nowhere then new news after the day we expected the site to be extinct is kinda crazy
