I’ve mostly been bedridden for 13 years. But I have less negs these days. My problem is inertia and laziness.
I also have started feeling light headed when I stand up, which scares me!
I want to start exercising because I’m pre-diabetic. My doc told me that I need to start moving, she said do anything that makes you move.
I want to ask you guys if you exercise with these drugs in the system? Does olanzapine cause you mental sluggishness? Can you work out? Does the meds cause you fatigue? Also I’m afraid of overheating. Is it a risk?
I know man if you have no drive to workout its almost impossible. Even walking is hard if you dont feel up to it. Im kinda like that now. I try to get 20 min walk in each day.
I have no problem exercising on Olanzapine, though im on a lower dose than you.
The trick is to find an exercise you enjoy, so it doesnt feel like such a big task. Theres so many different things you can do that gets your body moving.
Maybe lowering your dose will help you with motivation and fatigue? (Only do so under doctors orders)
I’m on 7.5 mg Olanzapine daily and felt low motivation for doing intensive movements such as aerobics, just don’t have the energy. Then I tried soft movements like Tai Chi. It works well for me. It’s an online fitness class. They put videos there and you can watch it over and over again until you have learned it. It’s like Tai Chi but is simpler than Tai Chi.
Oh man don’t go for exercise go for movements. Every day I walk at least 1 km to and from our local gasstation where I buy all that days food and cigarettes. Some days I walk two km around in the local quarter. Just walk then everything will turn out well for you.
I’m on 20 mg Clopixol & 800 mg Seroquel IR (Qutiapine) daily.
I started doing that too. If I have been sitting for a while I will get up and pace for 5 minutes in the apartment before I sit down again. It’s good for health. Also I usually go for one longer walk outside daily.
