I called a couple of coin dealers and got it appraised for $50-$100. The expert on the phone said the main coins I’m interested in selling are old pennies and 100’s of millions of them were minted and they probably won’t go up in value in the next 50 years. I have some silver coins though that I might sell for a nice profit. I have a complete collection of pennies from every mint from 1941-1972 and a couple of uncirculated mint sets and a bunch of foreign coins from the 1800’s. I also have most of the 1999-2001 commemorative quarters but they aren’t worth much.

Take a close look at what you got before you trade in.

Yeah, I know what you mean, there might be a real valuable coin amongst the cheap ones.

Wouldnt be surprising in an old coin collection that has been untouched in 40 years

Well, I got a $70 charge to talk to the coin expert that I didn’t know about beforehand. Effen ripped off. Watch out for Just Answer, this is the second time they’ve ripped me off.
