its a struggle to get the shopping, prices have gone up a bit but I wish I could get food/drink into my fridge/freezer easier 
the shop is nearby but its still a struggle I hate it. I told my p/doc about it once and the condescending prick basically called me a liar.

I can’t stand that I can’t afford even a 1-bedroom shithole apartment – without having to at least work part-time. It would have to be closer to full-time, which is outta the question.
I applied for government-assisted housing, and got approved. I STILL couldn’t afford to live on my own. I only get SSDI as my income

Sorry, @Tulane. That’s really awful. My father is on Sect 8 housing with only SSDI. Because he’s turning full retirement age next month, they are changing around his healthcare premium assistance, and they will be taking another $200 out of his check per month. I don’t even know where they think that’s going to come from. He doesn’t buy extras. It’s insane. It’s just insane.

My sister is also very sick. She is on SSI but has a husband who makes just enough that they can afford a two bedroom with their youngest child (the others have moved out). Anyhow, I worry about her, too, especially with food. She does her best, makes everything at home, never gets anything for herself. I try to send her clothes and things like that for her and her daughter, or boots for her husband when he needed a pair for work. We are a bit better off than they are financially, and I try to do what I can for her. Still, it kills me to hear she is sharing a can of corn among her family, and that’s their dinner. It’s just heartbreaking because I don’t always have the extra money to get them something when they need it. The whole situation isn’t right.
