Oatmeal - soluble fibre for lowering cholesterol
I use olive oil for everything instead of seed oils
Sardines are a great source of omega 3’s, protein, and if you eat the tiny bones it is a great source of calcium. They are also low in fat and cheap.
everything is good in the right circumstances i think. Even junk food could be good if someone was starving and wanted to gain weight fast. its like medicine, everything used at the right time is good ![]()
How about wild salmon. It has omega 3 which is good for the brain and eyes i think
Avocado, legumes, salad, tofu.
I heard tofu is estrogenic, but I will need to research that further.
I miss lentils. My mother used to cook spicy curried lentils.
I’m gonna get some salmon in a few days. I can’t remember which has more heavy metals; wild or farmed? Idk.
Last year I was losing weight whilst still eating junk food. It releases dopamine and tastes good. Everything in moderation I guess.
Im not sure either but i think wild has less heavy metals unless u are talking about organically farmed
McDonald’s double quarter pounder with cheese large fries and a coke
Unlikely. You’re stressing your liver and kidneys and that stuff is hell on your arteries. Clogging and stiffens them. A lot of it is high glycemic index carbs and unhealthy fats. Worst of all, it’s engineered to undo your body’s healthy satiety response, you crave it past the point of being full.
In my own case, I’ve changed my gut biome so significantly that I no longer have the bacteria needed to digest the preservatives in junk food. Gives me violent diarrhea as my body tries to evacuate it as fast as possible (there’s research backing this).
If you haven’t watched Supersize Me with Morgan Spurlock, please do. Pay attention to his bloodwork in the film. It craters all month.
i mean yea its not healthy for the average person but im saying if someone was starving to the point of like malnutrition then very processed food could actually help deliver nutrients to their body quickly if you get what i mean.. say someone weighed 75lbs and they were trying to gain weight quickly. Eating fattening foods would be a good tool for such a person. there no “evil” food, just bad use of it. for average consumption and in most cases it is unhealthy, but in some its good. same with substances. abusing pain killers is bad, but if used properly by a doctor its good.
That’s not true, if the person is malnourished, last thing he needs is a bag of chips….more likely than not he will benefit more from salmon, whole grains, vegetables and fruits
Ultra-processed meats are always bad for you. Sugary drinks are always bad for you. Ultra-processed carbs (white villains) like HFCS, cane sugar, white flour, etc., are generally not good or you. Excess consumption has been shown to critically damage your gut biome. People with damaged gut biomes will not heal as quickly (or sometimes at all) from illness or injury. They are more prone to depression, poor behaviour.
There’s so much science on this now.
I have a stollen loaf in the fridge and I know the glycemix index on it must be insane.
On topic, oily fish are way way better than vegetarian sources of omega 3 as it is readily available while walnuts source of omega 3 go through a very inefficient pathway of conversion to available omega 3, I would take other nutrients from nuts and seeds but if I am targeting omega 3 I would aim for oily fish instead
Sauerkraut for probiotics, 2 oysters for daily requirement of zinc which helps with negative symptoms, 1 egg for choline, 2 cups of fortified milk or soy milk for calcium, 3-4 sachets or 6-8 grams of green tea leaves loose to make 2 cups of green tea minimum
Then add a glp 1 for weight loss or switch to cobenfy or weight sparing antipsychotics, some form of supplements from reliable sources like brainzvitamin for sarcosine, oriveda for mushrooms powder, nootropic depot for everything else, I have a thread up on medication forum with studies pinned for supplement that helps but doesn’t give side effects in the dosages written
