I got into this a while ago, mainly following the Mediterranean Diet.
Just to be clear, there are healthy and unhealthy ways to go about it and a person has to be careful not to cross the line into an eating disorder. Also, it will NOT cure SZ. It helps a bit, but you’re not going off your meds. You might be able to scale them back some with your doc’s approval.
In my case I have lost weight and I feel better and sharper. That a lot of people who mostly eat clean also do is backed by a pile of scientific research. If you do change to this diet, talk with a doctor first. Some of the foods you pick (e.g. grapefruit) may conflict with your meds.
olive oil cooked curries in the evenings, usually mince or chicken. accompanied with white rice (my biggest unhealthy food in my diet imo). In terms of spices, it’s usually mixed high heat stuff and tumeric, tiny bit. Coriander and sometimes softened potatoes are also common. Green or red chillies every time. minimal salt, but enough for the meat to be taste complemented
Mornings made of Cereals and oat milk bc lactose intolerant (usually quite sweet unfortunately, so another red flag issue here)
Energy drinks (to be replaced with cold slight salted coffee because apparently that is similar in caffeine kick to energy drinks) but first I’m waiting for my nicotine consumption to completely halt
I also have instant noodles which is kinda red flag because it’s supposed to be really salty but I’ve reduced this a lot and it’s made a different. I’ve lost 4 to 7kg in the last month
I avoid all dairy, gluten, egg yolks, and chickpeas. Plus I have to eat no more than 15 grams of fiber per day. Plus I eat low fodmap foods which is for ibs. I have a lot of stomach issues and things can easily set me off. Basically I eat a little vegetable or fruit each day, rice, protein like chicken, tuna, turkey, or egg whites, dairy/gluten free carbs like corn chips etc. it’s the least healthy I’ve ever eaten but otherwise I’m super ill. I actually love fruits and veggies etc, but have to eat very little so I’m not consuming too much fiber.
I roughly follow the Mediterranean Diet. I eat salmon and shrimp and skinless chicken breasts and limit red meat. I use olive oil and eat almonds and walnuts. I limit my dairy intake to non fat Greek yogurt and non fat milk and I try to eat fruit and vegetables. I eliminated sugary cereals from my diet and processed meat and canned soup and chili. I never eat processed, frozen dinners or food and barely eat any sugar unless it sneaks in ketchup or pasta sauce. I eat whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread and brown rice and try to avoid starchy foods like corn. I’ve been cooking recipes off BudgetBytes lately that aren’t terrible for me but I’m going to purposely stick to the healthier recipes. I have fast food about once every two weeks and I’ve been eating from TooGoodToGo about once every 11 days but I’ll try to limit those even more.
I’m on an ayurvedic vegetarian diet. I try to eat as much greens as possible. I had kale for a snack just now. Just fresh kale with a little bit of lemon dressing. It was delicious
I just read some stuff and I was going to share but I’m realizing that I’m doing it incorrectly. You have to identify your dosha. Then it requires certain foods to balance your dosha. People may find this to be unscientific.
What I’ve been doing is focusing on sattvic foods. As all foods can be identified as either rajasic tamasic or sattvic
Rajas is fever and means high energy
Tamas is sickness and means low energy
Sattva is purity
So I incorrectly thought that I should only have sattvic food, the reality of the ayurvedic diet is much more complex and involves the three doshas. Which I won’t describe because it might get into pseudoscience according to the forum
Same, I am into this, eating farmed salmon everyday with tons of vegetables, fruits mainly lentils ,bananas and stuff. Together with whole grain
Now I am also taking sarcosine and all kinds of minerals like zinc through oyster x2, probiotics through sauerkraut, caffeine and l theanine through green tea x4(bought loose leaves for cheaper cost and better leaves)
Trying some supplement next like l theanine 200mg, nac 200mg probably through a reliable source. After which I would take lion’s mane….
