How do u eat a normal diet?

I need support for how to eat like a normal person and not feel guilty.

I think i got it from my mom. She thinks many foods are bad.

But i want to feel free to eat anything.

Strict dieting ..leads to binge eating with me, its a loosin game.

Its not something that can be fixed in one go, but youll have to figure out why exactly you feel guilty, work out the trauma your mom gave you and trying to find a better diet. Is the goal of your dieting to feel better or is it more aimed towards having a sense of control?

Generally going on a strict diet when youre already suffering from guilty feelings and trauma can lead to dangerous terratories. I say this as someone struggling with anorexia. Its better to try to deal with the trauma first and find a coping mechanism other than the control (or uncontrol) of food.

And very strict dieting will often lead to binging because youre putting your body through extreme stress and panic mode.

Thankyou. Yes i see where you are comin from. If i work thru the trauma from past things. That might relax me and stop the need to control my food. Rather, feel relaxed with eating anything.

Make a list of the healthy foods you like to eat. Gradually replace the unhealthy foods with healthy foods over a long period of time. Train yourself to drink more water. Google healthy recipes online and start cooking them. Change your habits gradually so your body is less likely to react. ,

This sounds realistic. Doing the process gradually but also not being extreme. I shud allow processed oils and red meat for instance. And like a weekly takeaway night and choc snaks wen i need them but not in kg lol.

Thankyou :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Well, whatever you bring into your apartment, you’re going to eat. So if you buy cookies and candy and ice cream and bring them into your home, that’s what you’re going to eat. If you buy chicken breasts and salmon and vegetables and whole grain bread and pasta and greek yogurt and olive oil that’s what you’re going to eat.

It’s about shopping smart so before you go shopping eat something and make a list and stick to it. When you go shopping and you’re hungry you’re more likely to make impulse buys and often those are stuff like chips and cookies and stuff. You can eat healthy and not go hungry.

Plan your meals ahead of time for the week and you have control over what you want to eat so stick to it. You should just figure out ahead of time that dieting isn’t going to be easy and losing weight is hard and don’t go into it with any unrealistic expectations.

You can eat healthy and have healthy snacks and still be full. Eating a lot of protein fills you up so eat chicken and eggs and beans and nuts and tuna and other protein. You have total control over what food you buy so buy the right food.

I’ve heard someone say that when ordering groceries online that they tend to buy more extras like candy and chips. It’s the opposite for me, when I shop online I make a list beforehand and I usually stick to it. Shopping online and having the groceries delivered works best for me because I download and print out various recipes for casseroles and other dishes and some recipes call for uncommon or rare ingredients and finding them on a website is as easy as typing them into a search bar but if you shop in person the ingredients can be harder to find and you spend more time in the store going down a lot of aisles searching for exactly what you want. Shopping online eliminates all that.

My old diet was pretty good but it’s mostly for maintaining, not really for weight loss. I mean you could do the same diet just less amount but yea. Not really sure what the key to weight loss is besides eating enough veggies.

No I haven’t been keeping up with it these days. I used to and my meal preps were ok for weight maintenance but I need to figure something out for weight loss. One key thing I’m learning is work helps me a lot. Generally I find when I’m working and on my feet moving around etc my weight is normal. Now that winter came and I wasn’t working as much I gained weight lol

If you are gluten intolerant, and don’t eat it for a while, you’ll find out how sick it makes you, if you eat some. It really makes you fat.
