I can act normal. Like a “normie”. I can be actively hallucinating and act fine. It’s a survival instinct I think. It’s a skill I picked up because it was necessary
I looked, sounded and acted normal even during the height of my psychosis. It really came in handy when my family had family functions and I could attend with no problems.
Outside home I look and feel normal because I fake it. Whenever I am home alone I start thinking about my sz
Me too guys. I can fake it
Last night I dreamt that people were going to kill everyone who was acting normal. There was a store or something where they sold something that could save me but I let this lady cut in line in front of me and I missed out and so they were going to kill me and a few other people. I woke up totally freaked out but I had to pull myself together fast because I know my neighbor picks up on stuff like this and will screw me over and wreck my facade.
Same here, I can mask pretty well but maybe it is easier if one has mainly negative symptoms, I don’t know. But there is a truth to it, fake it till you make it home where symptoms can freely manifest more. Even if it sounds absurd as a positive quality of this illness.
I don’t know if I fake it well
I don’t start screaming in public because I’m scared or anxious, but you can see I’m anxious I think when I’m not ok
I worked four years at my saloon, and nobody knew that I have sz..
Noone has a clue im unwell
Yea..me to. Sorry hanna fox
Are you a female?
No,I’m zoa,Zoe is female …
Lol
Ok..I was co fused
I feel that. I have had a job for the last year untreated and friends for the last 5 and they’re all having difficulty believing how much Schizophrenia affected me and made me act strange because most of the time I seemed relatively normal.
I don’t because most of the time I’m thinking about the delusions and lose insight. I’m blessing people, collecting excessive religious books and artefacts, my pdoc comes and I can she her noting in her notepad all the religious stuff in my house.
I mask too, but it’s really uncomfortable.
