I quit my job today

I injured my back again today and it was the last straw. The job is just too physically demanding at my age. I have what appears to be a permanent elbow injury/said its tendonitis but it never goes away and soon my back would be permanently damaged if I stayed working there.

I held out for about 9 or 10 months, though, so not a bad run.

I guess I’ll start looking for something new. In the meantime, we are going to have to tighten our belts around here.

Goodbye Amazon!

I had forgotten about your job being physically demanding when I recommended in another post to not quit. My apologies. I hope you find something more suitable

amazon and other shipping/ warehouse jobs are very physical. if youre in pain its completely reasonable to stop. its not worth it to damage body for a job when there are so many less physically taxing jobs

Seriously ask your psychiatrist…

If peer support is something you’re interested ask community mental health centers in your area.

In Michigan they hire peer support specialists more than other mental health treatment centers.

You could also try hospitals, but I believe community mental health centers would be your best bet to get info.

Also check online to see what your state’s requirements for peer certification is.

Sorry man. Yeah, they have a bad rep for chewing people up physically and then spitting them out without proper compensation and they do it to all age groups. Maybe driving for them might be better?

I once worked at a foundry. I lasted maybe two months before my back said “no more.”

If things have not changed much a lot remote work is good

Think there’s quite a lot of jobs out there where you just need a laptop and an internet connection.

Might be worth seeing if there’s anything like that you could do?

Since I worked from home things much more stable

With my back problems it’s ideal as well as working in a calm environment

Hope you can find something better suited
