Lost a ton of weight

So far, 93 pounds! I had reached an all time high of 323 lbs. and this morning I weighed 230. I started seriously dieting in September of 2024, I lost the first 20 pounds just by counting calories then I was put on metformin, then Mounjaro. I’m on 12.5 mg right now. I’ve gone down 6 inches in my waist and it’s a lot easier to get up out of a chair now and get in and out of my car. The guys at work commented on how much weight I lost. My tentative goal is 190 but when I get there, depending on how I feel and look, I may try to lose a little more.

Great work man! Just an FYI generally speaking, you have to eat the number of calories of the weight you want to weight minus the last digit. So if you eat 3000 calories a day youll weigh 300 lbs. If you want to weigh 200 lbs you have to eat 2000 calories and so on. It will vary a bit because people have different activity levels, but as a general rule of thumb its the case.

Depends on metabolic rate as well. For some people 3000kcal could be maintenance esp if they lift regularly.

I tried <2k kcal a day before for months back in 2019 and I stayed at around 230lbs.

I think meds messed up my metabolism.

yea thats what i said, it depends on your activity level, but overall as a predictor of society as a whole its generally true. obviosuly if you ride a bike for 3 hours a day youll have to ear more, but for the average person on an average day its true.

the other thing is people tend to underestimate how many calories they eat

I just eat less and smaller meals and walk my pup everyday for at least a hour. I lost 12 pounds in about 6 or 7 weeks

Like good job but glad I got weight off with keto. Lot’s of health questions with the jabs and no offence but some of what I’m seeing is kinda concerning. Losing muscle mass with the weight…

It’s a new world but the curious thing with the keto is that the improvements with negatives and general well being have been amazing and you still need to watch what you eat etc.

New world. I dig it but glad my shrink got me on the path that has worked for me over a clinical approach that is new…here’s the thing. The mental improvements of symptoms on keto/lo carb are way more benefical. I’m that guy on the stall on the street. Prove me wrong .
