I’ve lost weight by getting an understanding of exactly how much food I need and eating nothing else. If you aim for 15g to 20g protein per meal it doesn’t take much food, especially plant based. If you are eating some kind of legume for protein in theory you only need around ten percent of that amount in other carbs for the missing amino acids.
So if you are using a cup of beans which is 250 ml you only need 25 ml which is like two tablespoons of rice or barley or couscous or potato or wheat etc. Cutting down the extra carbs is useful.
I lost weight by getting off clozapine. Once I was off I just started losing weight. I did diet to some extent and I walked a lot daily at least 20,000 steps a day.
Last year for like 2 months of eating cereal i lost like 20 lbs
Thanks for your advice everyone. I am counting calories again and if it’s not too late by the time my foods gone down, i will have a 30 min workout tonight. In fact I’m dying for a workout - for the mental health benefits

Lost 2.4kg since being back home. Good, but today i have eaten so many calories that ive only got 76 calories left for the rest of the day and its only 12pm!
I will try your unlimited veggies thing this afternoon, because i ate too many calories today.

I hope it works out for you. It’s been a great diet for me so far, although I realise the same diet doesn’t always work for everyone.
Two things I can recommend are salads with yogurt as dressing. A cup of yogurt has only 150 calories and that’s plenty of dressing for a gigantic salad. A huge pot of salad can end up being like 250 calories which is amazing for big meal and has protein and fat as well.
To switch it up sometimes I do veggie stew with veggies and lentils to add protein. Red lentils especially break down and expand a lot when you add enough water making a huge pot of food for relatively low calories. Then I add veggies that have been in the blender to the pot and make a soup.

Mm yoghurt sounds good and salad. Unfortunately i have been eating high calorie foods all day. Will prob end up being 1000 cal over.
I like lentil stew too, plus its really cheap to make!

gonna try to reel it in tomorrow haha. I want to see about buying yogurt in bulk as well
what I did last time was add, hot sauce, vinegar, salt and pepper and other seasoning to the yogurt to make it into a dressing. I want to make a big container of it so I don’t run out ![]()

one tip i have for anyone trying to lose weight is to not choose what youre going to eat while your hungry. You know how they say “dont go shopping while your hungry”? Well the same goes for choosing what you will eat. For example if your starving and want chocolate, first have something healthy like oatmeal or a salad and then once youve had that, then decide if you still want the chocolate and honestly you’ll feel much more in control of the urge to eat.
