We were originally going to get Maggie once we get our fence fixed in the spring.
My dad was willing to give her to us. However, my mom has objected and said “This is her home”, so we likely will not be getting Maggie.
Since we are not getting Maggie, we will likely get a new dog in the spring.
Every other day it seems , my wife brings up the dog. She is not much of one for patience.
Anyway, she had originally said she wanted a pit bull, but I have tried to talk her out of it. Don’t get me wrong, some pit bulls are great, but the reputation is not completely unearned IMO. In my neighboring state I believe you have to have expensive insurance on them because some of them can be unpredictable. I’m not sure about this state.
Please no pit bull owners jump down my throat now. I’m sure some of them are fine dogs. I just believe the unpredictability factor is there in some.
Anyway, I was leaning towards a Lab…but I’m not really sure which breed we should choose. Maybe even a mutt would be fine.
When selecting the puppy do a basic test on the animal’s personality. You can find simple tests online. It saves you getting a neurotic or aggressive dog and helps get an affectionate one.
We are going to get a dog @zoa . Thats exactly what I was saying. You mustve misunderstood me. We are going to get a dog in the spring. Since we cant get Maggie, we are trying to decide on a breed.
You prolly want a low energy dog? I’d get an adult dog like a lab or golden retriever. Puppies are fun but exhausting to train. You might also like one that doesn’t shed a lot. All fun things though. I get to name her/him though. lol
