My neighbors switch their cars around which is not strange but so do we. But when I’m outside reading they do this then lock their car about 5 times like they’re trying to get my attention. Today they pulled out of their driveway stopped at the edge then sped past, came back down the street and stopped in front of my house and got out to switch drivers. It’s triggering to me.

Yeah that is the sz brain. It works totally like that but it’s not normal. Like not that your paying attention because I do that to in my neighbourhood but that associations and the thoughts really are a struggle…
It’s tough but that is paranoid sz. Talk to your treatment team as it’s important to them that you think like this. It took me a long time to be on meds and start to think oh. Is this how normal people think. It’s improved on the meds for sure and you’ll get there…but even if they get out there and change their cars according to color…how does it matter? It doesn’t to them but it does to you! …That is the problem.

Yeah I don’t talk to my therapist about it because it never comes up in conversation. plus I wear it so well that people often don’t know i’m paranoid. I think they call this masking.Medication has made it better. I used to yell at cars.

Most of us have been there.
Approach it and deal with it. It works if the meds are cutting in. You need better strategies to deal with the little things which we all deal with daily…it’s worthwhile doing.

I can understand how that can be triggering. I’d probably feel the same way if I were in your situation.

definately just paranoia. Theres a reason that has nothing to do with you even if its not immediately obvious… maybe they were going on a long drive and decided to let the other person drive instead. its just paranoia… and lots of people lock their cars multiple times… they want to make sure its 100% locked… a lot of people press it like 3-4 times i find
Honestly I think my neighbor is the one that’s paranoid. I think she may have schizophrrnia too I caught her staring at me one day when I was outside and it felt familiar. Ever since they’ve moved in they’ve been acting strange with us.

Or maybe? I just wish I didn’t do that, but I can’t help it. I feel like a bad person sometimes, like something is wrong with me.
