I feel what Iām missing is more about organization of ideasā¦ idk if I explain myself well.
The harmonic vocabulary is very cool, but if you look at the top songs of every genre (ok besides free or experimental music) they are pretty damn organized, like genius type of organization. Like they repeat just enough to later introduce a surprise.
Maybe you could look a bit into songwriting (the form depends a lot on the genre you going for, tho)

Thats a big thing I do lack and ive know it for a while manā¦ I can express emotions but its all off the cuff. I dont do things skillfully in a logical way but i use emotion

For example, ājust the two of usā
Intro (repeat 4x times, only instrumental)
Verse (voice comes in)
Chorus (something changes texture wise)
Verse (repetition)
Chorus (repetition)
Bridge (little sax solo, but againā¦ it repeats)
Outro (this is jammy with the vibes solo, but still the choir is giving structure)
