The old boy finally bevare really compliant with the pills he takes

You know in the past 10 years I got lowered from 300 mg Clopixol Weekly to now 200 mg Clopixol depot every other week and this means a reduction of 67 %. And I was taken off of 240 mg Ziprasidone/ Geodon. And I was upped from 550 mg Seroquel to 800 mg.

So now the doctor will no longer accept any changes in my pills. I understand now that he may upper the depot if I play around with my pills. I feel so much better on more Seroquel pills than on more injection so now Ive become compliant.

True, it’s a rough fate, but being compliant doesen’t necessarily mean meds for life. It’s ok to discuss tapering down or off with the doctor if one feels confident about it sometimes, and if they agree, it can be tried.

Sounds sensible, although it is probably smart to try to get along with minimal dose. Maybe it is possible to quit at some point if risks are managed and supervision is there. And there is the wild card of new treatments on the pipeline which could upend the whole picture. But maybe these drugs are necessary evil for the time being.
