What do you feel sad about?
yes politics in America is driving me insane…it truly is depressing.
Wars make me anxious.
But the whole human history is full of wars
I feel sad because life just passed I guess.
And I am too numb to really register the fact.
The quiet problem with wars is that things get rationed or run out , like medications that does not feel good.
I always ask myself this question: Is this in my control, or is this not in my control? War is not in my control. Why should I waste the present worrying about something that I can’t control?
We’re hardwired to focus on the negative, the dangerous (or the perceived dangerous). It’s evolutionary. It has its purpose, especially helpful to not be lunch for a dinosaur.
I try to retrain my brain and look for the positive. I just watched a man with no arms play table tennis (racket was in his mouth). Very inspiring. There’s a lot of good happening in the world but we don’t see it. What did Helen Keller say: When one door closes another opens, but we stare so long at the closed door that we don’t notice the open one.
Look for the open door.
I’d rather be delusional with a non reality driven happiness than live in reality and be sad everyday. I’m cynical I see no good in anything. I think it’s old age and talking to old guys about life. The cycle continues. Break the cycle. Just be grateful and try to make as much use as you can the things you got. Don’t let things get dusty put them to use. I never really appreciated anything until my suffering to an extent ended. I saw the other side. I remember getting to work an hour early everyday to read. Shoveling snow an hour before that. Going to work. Afterwards going to school. Coming home eating, showering, and working on things. Aspiring for security in life. You really have to live with a philosophy that everything is survival. If you don’t you just piss money away and you’re screwed a lot of times. If you’re fortunate you can live beyond this but many don’t. I have a friend that saves $20G’s a year and never goes out. If something breaks he’s ok. I have another friend that has a big house and if something in his house broke he’d have to finance based on his credit. I’m not saying don’t treat yourself, I’m saying don’t treat yourself so much that you can’t survive if there’s a crisis. Be delusional like me. Find the good.
I hear you. But its nice to vent sometimes too. Cant pretend everythin is perfect.
I do agree its nice to hav a net positiv approach though
I tell myself to just go for it. Lol.
Positive visualisation is sort of delusional LOL
Life is an experiment 2 be played.
And won.
Im thinking and reminiscing about memories now from childhiod and also some christmas days from the past.
Hope your feeling better now Zoe ![]()
