Yesterday I had yet another endoscopy, the 10th or 11tth since March 2023.I get the feeling, from things said, that results are in a grey zone. Rather than white-good/black-bad .
That sucks sorry to hear about that
Should have been seen at a specialist place in Oxford in Feb 2024,but wasn’t.A new referral has been made.
What are you having endoscopies for?
Barrett’s oesophagus
I REFUSE TO SHOVE ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING UP THERE
im not against others but not for me
Fisherman he’s talking about his throat, not his anus
That sucks @firemonkey . I hope they can help you get relief
Thank you. I’m very anxious about it.
Having a colonoscopy could save your life.
It’s safe to have it done and they knock you out and you don’t feel a thing.
I do hope that you’re able to get some clarity @firemonkey .
And please remember, in case it’s bad news - while you’re still breathing, there is always, always hope.
PM me if you’d like to hear a personal story about overcoming cancer later in life.
@77nick77 they don’t knock you out here in the UK. Your awake for it
Hello @Qwerty ,
Absolutely no offence intended, but the current UK NICE guidelines are that the doctor taking the colonscopy has to offer you both pain relief but also sedation (knocking you out for the duration).
Whether you decide to accept either, is entirely up to the patient, but that’s the legal position.
I am very sorry if this is upsetting news in any way.
@LivingWith what I meant is they don’t put you to sleep. I wasn’t sedated for mine as I have two boys I had to take care of.
Yeah i heard they knock you out with meds
Idk is it clean will I get a STI off of it
Sorry im paranoid about ot
I swear these are actual fears im NOT TROLLING
I’m getting confused. Sorry.
I was sedated for an endoscopy years ago.
For the colonoscopy I wasn’t sedated.
They have to knock you out because of the gag reflex according to my Dr. I’m having one soon.
You will not get an STI from the procedure. Everything is sterile. No need to worry.
Ah, sorry, my bad.
Tbh, I was also giving a ‘heads up’ for anyone in the UK who is/will be in this position.
I take my hat off to you for going through that without sedation. Not a very pleasant procedure, really.
Ty. I did have pain relief. But no sedation.
Best wishes to you @firemonkey
I’m sorry you’re going through this.
