Thanks I wish I could buy dried spinach in bulk. The only shelf stable vegetables I can really think of is nori. It’s great but kind of pricy.
Chia and flax seeds are a great idea. They are really high fiber.
Yes , true that. Flax seeds are good omega 3 too. I grind organic flax seeds and then stir them in my meals!
Canned sardines are good man. Less mercury than tuna and still pretty cheap.
For fruit and veg you can do smoothies with half spinach, half frozen fuit, either plant or regular milk and add some chia or flax seeds for protein. Peanut butter powder works too. I dropped a decent amount of weight with those after I gained a bunch on my first ap.
Tinned sardines are good. Alternate with tuna.
Here in the UK at Aldi supermarket, you can get 2 fresh smoked basa fish fillets for £1.85 which is incredibly cheap for good fish.
Fish basically. Just eat fish ![]()
Buying a steamer has been a very good thing, it preserves vitamins more and the food taste better.
Egg whites, non starchy vegetables, roasted chicken breast, unsweetened coconut milk for low calorie protein smoothies
@Lillyofthevalley coconut milk can be really tasty. I used to get the rude health calcium coconut milk. It needs to b in the fridge and shaken before use because the calcium settles at the bottom.
Yes, that’s what i do with my coconut milk. I have a low calorie protein powder, 1/2 cup of blueberries, 1/4 cup sliced banana, 3 dark cherries and one cup unsweetened coconut milk plus a half cup of cold water. I freeze the fruit so I don’t need to add ice.
That sounds decent. Especially with the cherries.
egg whites is a great idea ill have to look into the calories if normal eggs vs egg whites
When I could still eat yolks I would eat 1 whole egg with 3 egg whites. Low calorie and very healthy. Now I only eat egg whites.l (due to be sensitive to yolks).
no great food ever existed without a touch of flavour
True hmm yea I wonder what the difference in calories is. I’m sure it adds up over time at the least.
My x was sensitive to chicken. I wonder if it’s the same protein or whatever. There’s. Ascertain allergen that aggravated her eczema
An egg has 70 calories. 3 tbs of egg whites is 25 calories
Wow that’s pretty good.
