Currently on xeplion and aripiripazole
Still hearing things that aren’t there and paranoid thoughts.
Could clozapine resolve this?

No,not really .. I’m long time on it,and have voices ..
But it’s best med for me,I can sleep and function ..
I take 300mgs/day

Clozapine didnt help my voices either still on 150mg a day

It’s different,but haven’t tried xeplion,but been on Risperdal Consta for six months ..
I think that are different mechanism meds ..

I’m on clozapine…350 mg per day. I still have voices but my psychotic symptoms are very mild. It lets me live independently most of the time. I don’t like the increased appetite, and despite using atropine drops I still drool when I sleep.

Xeplion is same as Paliperidone (invega)
It’s European brand.

I wish I said yes to it a long time ago but I thought I knew better than the doctors

I’m not a pdoc, but I think they work better together, I do clozapine and every 3 months I have Paliperidone injections.
My veredict? Clozapine is a must to do drug, and one of the most effective for treating sz, my meds were always clozapine with something, so since I start medication I always used clozapine. Voices didn’t go away, but they got quieter and more manageable.

Ah gotcha then I have tried it. I had pretty severe akathesia on it and had to take a lot of cogentin that made me super thirsty

Clozapine does not agree with me. Plus the blood tests. No thank you.

I’ve been taking clozapine for 7 years.
It’s one of the best meds but doesn’t make me totally sane. I still have symptoms

Clozapine works well for some people; just a heads up that it might knock you out like an hour or so after you take it.

Have you already tried zyprexa? It’s considered by many as the second heaviest drug, only next to clozapine.

I’m on generic Zyprexa (olanzapine). I take 22.5mg per day every evening. I know this is a little elevated, but I was on 30mg for over two continuous years. It was my Mother’s advice to reduce the dose with a goal target dosage of 20mg per day. I’m just glad to finally be 100% compliant with treatment, as well as having an open mind. I am on the lowest dose of olanzapine I have been on over the past nine consecutive years. And it’s working out so far, which I am proud of. I remember whenever it was my idea to reduce my medication, I always ended up going off the deep end, metaphorically. So I have learned to trust.

I guess being compliant is the way to go. Trying to quit meds on my own never went well.
Glad you got to a lower dose, you probably feel better.

Personally I wouldn’t because when I tried clozapine I passed out every day until I got used to it. Unfortunately I was sedated against my will. I would pass out every night, was very fat and hungry, had breathing troubles and couldn’t communicate. What a nightmare…
