Anyone ever tried to work in a Library?
It really appeals to me!!!
Anyone ever tried to work in a Library?
It really appeals to me!!!
It does not appeal to me cos i have to tell the idiots to shut up every 10 minutes. They wont listen ever…to me ![]()
I reckon it would be easy, the whole shushing people is a massive cliche, the girl in the library I saw recently was really hot as well?
I think u cud be good there. They even hav library cleaners too. Those cleaners r the most relaxed cleaners ive ever seen
I think I’d like it, just like sorting books and checking books in/out, tidying up a little, basic skills really, I keep thinking about that chick in the library though lol
Lol 15 characters that chicken.
Honestly tho its good, give it a try!
I’m a lollipop man atm, idk whetherr to change professions haha
If it is easy to get a lolipop job again then…maybe worth trying the library thing. But only if u feel its easy to go back to plan b if need be.
Up to u though ![]()
thing is, my benefits would be cut back if I did more hours,
I am still wrestling whether it’s worth working more hours and basically just supplementing my Benefits or switching from them completely, I know I wouldn’t get the same amount if I lost them.
also, idk if I can do so many hours, I am kinda at my limits to what I am capable of, librarian assistant does sound doable but I can’t be 100% about that
Yea i see. It is risky…hmmm.
Maybe an idea to keep in mind if u ever feel more into doing that and thriving with it
I hate that we have such restrictions on benefits! Anyhow, I like the library assistant idea. I think it sounds great.
The weather is going to get very bad and I’ll have to be on the crossing in the cold, wet, windy. should I just do it or look for something indoors like librarian?
@Honeysuckle in the uk its a bit better but still very risky, its hard to switch from full benefits to a complete proper wage, I would only be able to maybe do 12- 17.5 hrs a week atm, I only do 8hrs a week on the crossing
I’m at 8 hours a week here in the US, too. I’ve been told that they prefer to keep you at 10 hours or less. Most jobs want you a bit more than that! Anyhow, I personally wouldn’t be able to work outside, but that’s just me.
I think it’s because I am helping children, I feel I am being a really helpful part of society, lollipop patrollers are really well respected here. ![]()
in the uk its more to do with earnings that hours but they usually both go hand in hand anyway. they say I can work and earn no more the £410 a Month and after that they take 55p from every £1
Sometimes that feeling of doing good makes it really really worthwhile. If you are able to do it, and it makes you feel good about yourself, that’s something special. I’m always proud to tell people about my job because we help the community, and I really like that.
That sounds similar to the system they have set up here in regard to deductions based on making over a certain amount. Different amounts, of course, but similar concept.
I gave £100 to charity today and I upped my donations to my Church lol, I guess I got too much anyway lol
I did when I was school aged as a page, and then again when my daughter was in a private school I was the librarian for a while because they didn’t have one. I loved it!
this really cool, I keep thinking about this librarian who was really cool, she was way out of my league though, you think you could do it again? I like the idea of handling books
maybe it would encourage me to read more,
