My husband doesn't understand

My husband can’t understand how hard it is for me to do a simple thing like shopping.

How many others here have a similar problem to me?

my problem is when I view all the steps in going shopping (eg. dress, go to car, start car, drive, park at shops, go in shops, select items) I see them all at once and it goes like a spinning blur in my head, all mixed up and overwhelming and I feel paralysed to take action, it’s too much for me.

hubby can’t understand that. almost wants to give up on me…feel sad. why does simple things like going out have to be so hard??? :sob:

also, how do I tell what is due to laziness and what is due to schiz? I read the difference is found in what one was like before schiz. but I was 15 when it started! how do I know what I was like?

one thing I do know though, is that as a child, I loved going out. and since I got sick in my teens I became opposite - I withdrew and stayed in my room.

now it’s like that still - I wish I didn’t have to go out much. how do I cope with caring for an epileptic husband who shouldn’t drive when I myself have schiz?? it’s so hard…I struggle so much with all the responsibilities…:sob: all I want to do is stay home and read… not worry about getting dressed and going out and socialising…

I understand you @Dika

It’s very difficult for me to drive to stores and go shopping.

It’s nearly impossible for me.

Its difficult organizing complex tasks sometimes with this condition. I do very little shopping, and do find clothes shopping very overwhelming

I am the same. All the normal things make my mind feel so overwhelmed but i have to try to do them.

Its 1 reason for binge eating for me; it provides comfort when i feel so exhausted in the head!

Its crazy isnt it. I hope there is hope for us. Because life like this does not feel ideal at all.

I have to mask, and just bear with the discomfort. I get the weekly shop, travel home with it, put it all away - and then I crash out and feel tired and overwhelmed. Which sounds silly to most people. Its not a hard task. But the whole “leading up to it” is serious work for me.

I dont feel like going places much either. My grandma had epilepsy all her life and i grew up with her. Its frustrating when you dont feel like doing anything. And you have to go.

Do you ever catch a break though like idk do something for yourself. Sit in a quiet room? I dont know if i can help . Hugs

I don’t like people
